About Us

THE SUITES AT SUGAR MILL POINT EXPERIENCE

As a Schonberg Care Community, our number one priority is always the safety and wellbeing of each of our residents. If you talk to one of our residents or their loved ones, they'll be the first to tell you that our emphasis on individualized quality of care is what matters most to them, and that exceptional care is our biggest focus day in and day out.

We operate within the exclusive "Schonberg Neighborhood Concept,” which focuses on grouping residents with shared needs and abilities, as we have found this to be highly successful in further enhancing specialized care and stimulating social activity and interaction. Residents that require minimal assistance are able to enjoy a fulfilling sense of independence without the daily stress of running a household, while residents that are experiencing varying stages of Alzheimer's and dementia are provided higher levels of assistance and security. No matter what level of care is needed, our residents and their families enjoy the peace of mind in knowing that their loved ones are receiving exactly what they need. At The Suites at Sugar Mill Point, as with every Schonberg community throughout the South, residents can age 'with grace and in place' in a loving senior living environment that accommodates their needs at every level.

The Schonberg Philosophy

Words We Live By

"Several times each day, we answer the question, 'Is this in the best interest of each of our residents?' If the answer is yes, then we can't go wrong. This simple operating philosophy is the secret to our continued success." —David Schonberg

Emma joined The Suites team in September 2019. She has always considered The Suites a home as two of her grandparents had the pleasure of living here. She was born and raised in Houma and received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Nicholls State University. She is compassionate about caring for the elderly just as she has cared for her own family for many years. While concentrating on what dementia/Alzheimer’s residents can do, she strives to alleviate the stress of what they cannot do for themselves to both residents and their family members. The biggest accomplishment of her day is seeing smiles on residents’ faces and hearing them sing-along during music therapy.
